So, you’ve set your first bridal appointment to go and try on dresses. So exciting! Before you head out to your appointment, there are a few things that you can do to make the process easier and stress-free for you.

#1: Start Pre-Shopping: Look online for dresses and styles that speak to you. One of the best places to look is our website, as you’ll be able to see the dresses that we have available. You can also bring photos that you find online on Pinterest, Instagram, etc. We’ll always do our best to find the dress that matches your vision.

#2: Take & Bring All The Pics: If you are going to several different bridal salons, be sure to take photos of the dresses that you loved and didn’t love. Every one of these details will help your stylist get to know you and your style.

#3: Consider Your Crew: Yes, we know your whole family and friend group are important to you and are dying to come dress shopping with you, but you have to consider a few things: 1) Different stores have different max guest numbers 2) More people = more opinions. While everyone certainly means well, you don’t want to drown out your own intuition. It’s totally fine to bring you mom, or a couple of close girlfriends, but keep your girl gang small for the best experience.

#4: Know Your Budget: It can be fun to try on $5000 dresses, but if that’s not in your financial plan, steer clear of it. Why? Danger of falling in love. We’ve seen it happen — someone wants to try on a very pricey dress, they love it, and they can’t afford it. Every other dress fails in comparison, and they end up miserable. Don’t put yourself through it. Identify what your budget is, and be very clear with your consultant right up front. A good consultant will work within your budget and not try to upsell you on something you cannot afford.

#5: Browse The Bridal Salon’s Website + Online Presence: You can tell a lot about a company by what they do online. Check out their website and the designers that they carry. Do they have dresses in stock that you like and could see yourself in? Google the store and read their online reviews. You can’t judge any business based on one or two negative reviews, but 5-10 bad reviews all within the same timeframe can be a big red flag. Take a peek at their social media, do you like the message that they’re sending? Doing this can help you prepare for the vibe of the salon and its stylists.
